No such thing as girl gamers. by GraceRed112 No such thing as girl gamers. by GraceRed112
Pleas, fellow girls... stop trying to further divide us...

The pretending that you are somehow a victim in the gaming community has gone too far, its stopped looking like your actual victims and just started looking like a bunch of attention whores... And it makes honest female gamers like me look like shit.

Any rude comments I get from guys are few and scattered, and are normally provoked from the attention whoring I was talking about before.. Oh, and one more thing. Stop bragging about how you are "better then any boy out there" when it comes to gaming.. Grow up, that's bullshit. I believe pretty firmly that girls can achieve as much, and if not just as much as guys can, but if that were true then the top 100 reals in games would be filled with girl gamers. So prove it or shut up, because odds are most girls that call themselves "girl gamers" play Pokemon and animal crossing, and then play maybe one round of call of duty and give themselves this cancerous tag.

As normal I wont reply to many comments because:
A- I don't have much time on my hands right now.
B- Normally I'm not in the mood for debates.
C- I'd much prefer just be a wise ass then hold a debate... let others do the debates for me. XD

:iconiloveyouplz: YES. THANK YOU. I love this stamp. I completely agree with it... I'm supposed to be what they call a "girl gamer," but  just prefer to be called a gamer.

I very much agree with this stamp and the comments you have in the description. I feel it only brings further division and arguably even more sexism into the gaming world when a girl comes out and says "I'm a girl gamer." The way I see it is you're either a person who enjoys playing games (a gamer) or you're not, regardless of sex, race, religion etc.

I agree with this though I'm not a girl, just a gamer. any barriers between the sexes should be torn down both in society and in the gaming community, society's does a pretty decent job with gender equality in most cases but the gaming community is one of the worst places for gender equality! male gamers DO treat female gamers differently then fellow male gamers weather it be good or bad, many time it's borderline sexual harassment. (I'm not going to speculate the cause because many of you already know EXACTLY why this happens) in the end female gamers are just gamers like any male gamers and should be treated in exactly the same way as any other person who plays the game.
Now saying that I know that the gaming community is hardly known for it's maturity, games like call of duty (as a game XxchantellexX mentioned as having disrespectful players) are often made fun as some of the worst attitudes the gaming world has to offer, sorry call of duty players but it's true you may not be part of the problem but the problem is still there. I just hope I'm not the minority here in trying to bring about possitive, maybe even liberal ;) changes to the rest of the gaming community, it's time to push out of the box that deems us all social phobic basement dwellers, and one great step in the right direction is taking a mature stance on gender and sexual orientation among the gaming community.

It's kind of ironic that you say 'stop trying to further divide us' and then less than a paragraph later call girls who are upset about how they're treated attention whores.

That's because the attention whores are the ones dividing us lol. Your using an argument that is far too circular and need to realize that it falls on those attention whores and not the people who wanna just play games.

Regardless of who you think is at fault for dividing us, insulting others isn't really going to help with unity. Also, you attract more flies with honey than vinegar: kindly explaining an issue to someone is more likely to get them to change than insulting them will.

I don't think you can place all the fault for how female gamers are treated on the girls themselves. Maybe you personally haven't experienced it, but I know plenty of ladies (and I've experienced it myself) who have been harassed or insulted for being female without doing anything to provoke it but being themselves. Even something as simple as having a feminine screenname can lead to being harassed, or using teamspeak with a feminine voice, or playing as a female character. None of those are attention seeking. Girls shouldn't have to pretend to be men in order to be left alone.

I agree that the 'special snowflake~' type girl gamers are irritating, but they aren't the only ones at fault. The culture of bullying and harassment in multiplayer games is also at fault. The men who take advantage of the 'girl gamer using her gender to get free items' stereotype are also at fault- and yes, that is a thing, have a source.

If you just want to play games? Fine. Me too. But that doesn't mean I'll sit down and take being insulted or harassed or told that I have to be 'one of the guys' to be left alone, because that's not any kind of gender equality either.
